Entrepreneurship Talks
Medika North President – Robyn Villebrun was the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation 2023 Career Day Motivational Guest Speaker.
She dedicates her time into the community through various entrepreneurship talks. Robyn Villebrun became the first Wood Buffalo Innovations Guest Speaker to Encourage Other Entrepreneurs to go after their dreams. From this speaking engagement – she was asked by the Chair of Keyano College’s Business Program to speak to their Strategic Business Class. They were all very enlightened and impressed with her level of knowledge in Business – Self-taught and Passion she came with. Robyn then became the first “live case study” for Keyano College’s Strategic Business Class in 2018.
Robyn Villebrun has also dedicated her time to a local school – Father Patrick Mercredi High School’s Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Business Class – providing guidance, support and more importantly Mentorship to the students.
Northern Lights Regional Health Center
Medika North is a huge supporter of the Northern Lights Regional Health Center and the Northern Lights Health Foundation. This organization is crucial to our local healthcare system, all the gifts and generosity resonates through the health care facilities in Wood Buffalo and reaches patients daily through advanced technology, and advancing new programs and services.
Medika North is a continuous annual sponsor of the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
Medika North’s 2019 Business Commitment Goals were focused on Kids in the Community
Apple School Kids
Medika has made a 3-year commitment to Apple School kids donated annual funds for three years. APPLE Schools (A Project Promoting Healthy Living for Everyone in schools) is an innovative school-focused health promotion initiative. It improves the lives of more than 20,000 students annually in 74 schools across British Columbia, northern Alberta, Northwest Territories, and Manitoba by improving their healthy eating, physical activity, and mental health habits.
Female Lacrosse Team
Medika North is a proud sponsor of the first ever Female Lacrosse Team in the Wood Buffalo, it aligns with Medika’s values to encourage young females to explore new grounds whether in physical exercise or careers.
Hockey
Various local Hockey Team Sponsorships were made over the years. Hockey is so much more than just a sport for our community, it is full of powerful life lessons that assists many children into leading healthier choices, respecting their bodies, and nurturing their brain for leadership growth.

Top 50 Under 50
Medika North would like to give thanks to the Top 50 under 50 team for the opportunity in acknowledging individuals that have made positive contributions to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo! Robyn was selected as top 50 under 50 in 2021.
Northeastern Aboriginal Business Association (NAABA)
Robyn is an active member of the Northeastern Aboriginal Business Association and completed her 3 year term on the Board. She spoke at one of the NAABA Business Showcase events at Shell Center, the audience included numerous high school students, local business leaders, and Industry partners (CNRL, Suncor, Syncrude, Imperial Oil). www.naaba.ca
Regional Aboriginal Recognition Award
Medika North’s President, Robyn Villebrun, was the recipient of the Regional Aboriginal Recognition Award (RARA) for Entrepreneur of the year (2018). The Regional Aboriginal Recognition Awards were initiated in the Fall of 1988. A group of organizations identified the need to develop an awareness that would help build on the positive contributions that Aboriginal people (Metis, First Nation, Inuit) are making in everyday life. It gives us the opportunity to acknowledge individuals that have made positive contributions to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
